The improved asparagus volume is ready for some exciting advertising support. Peruvian volume is steady for now but will slowly decrease each week. Mexican volume has started to increase with steady shipments and lower markets. The quality is excellent with good color and compact tips.

Unlike this past year, extra-large and jumbo sizes will also be available out of Mexico this season. The time to promote is now through February.

Start looking ahead to plan some great asparagus promotions during the spring production out of California, Washington and Michigan. And mark your calendar to celebrate National Asparagus Day, which is May 24. That would be a perfect time to use your creative ideas for a special ad campaign.

Move your asparagus from the limited wall case section and put some muscle into boosting your sales. A nice attractive visual display on an end cap fixture can move larger quantities of product. Display your asparagus in the open for shoppers to have better access into purchasing plenty of asparagus. Sell from big displays rather than small, cramped sections on the wall case.

Check in with your asparagus suppliers for assistance with retail ad promotions and drive those maximum sales.

Do you know the plural of asparagus? Unlike the plurals in apples, melons, cucumbers or peppers, the plural for asparagus is just simply asparagus.
