John Boozman, chairman of the U.S. Senate Committee on Agriculture, Nutrition and Forestry, will serve as a keynote speaker at the Agri-Pulse Ag & Food Policy Summit on March 23 in Washington, D.C.
The annual summit will focus on the theme “Profit, Policy, and Possibility: Mapping the Future of Market Expansion for U.S. Agriculture.” Discussions will examine a range of topics affecting the agricultural sector, including value-added products, renewable fuels, protein markets, international trade and the role of artificial intelligence in food and agriculture.
Boozman, Arkansas’s senior U.S. senator, leads the Senate Agriculture Committee and also serves on the U.S. Senate Committee on Appropriations, the U.S. Senate Committee on Environment and Public Works and the U.S. Senate Committee on Rules and Administration in the 119th Congress. As chairman of the agriculture panel, Boozman plays a central role in shaping federal farm policy and overseeing programs that support U.S. farmers, rural communities and the nation’s food system.
The summit will bring together policymakers, agricultural leaders and industry stakeholders for panels and discussions on the future of agricultural markets and policy development. The event is held during National Agriculture Week and takes place one day before National Agriculture Day on March 24.
Additional confirmed or invited speakers include Shontel Brown, vice ranking member of the U.S. House Committee on Agriculture; Amy Klobuchar, ranking member of the Senate Agriculture Committee; and Glenn “GT” Thompson, chairman of the House Agriculture Committee. Industry leaders expected to participate include Jeff Simmons of Elanco Animal Health, Emily Metz of the American Egg Board, and Emily Skor of Growth Energy, among others.
The Ag & Food Policy Summit is widely attended by agricultural policymakers, trade groups, agribusiness leaders and researchers. The event is expected to highlight emerging opportunities and policy challenges facing the U.S. agriculture sector as industry leaders look to expand markets and adapt to evolving global demand.
