All You Need to Know About CPMA 2026

The Canadian Produce Marketing Association’s 2026 Convention and Trade Show is shaping up to be one of the most robust gatherings in the event’s history, bringing together hundreds of companies and thousands of industry professionals for three days of networking, education and innovation.

Taking place April 28-30 at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre in Toronto, CPMA 2026 will once again serve as Canada’s largest produce-focused event, with a sold-out trade show floor and a full slate of programming designed to connect the global fresh produce supply chain.

This year’s event will feature more than 700 exhibit spaces representing over 330 companies, including 151 international exhibitors and 194 Canadian firms. The strong international presence underscores CPMA’s role as a key meeting place for global produce trade, while also highlighting the strength of Canada’s domestic industry.

Attendees will also notice a significant number of new faces on the show floor, with 49 first-time CPMA member companies exhibiting. These newcomers will be clearly marked, encouraging participants to engage and build new relationships across the industry.

One of the most anticipated elements of the trade show is the New Product Showcase, which will feature 66 products from 51 companies. The showcase provides a platform for innovation, allowing attendees to get a firsthand look at the latest offerings shaping the produce category.

In addition, the Innovation Zone will spotlight 14 companies presenting cutting-edge technologies and solutions, reflecting the industry’s ongoing evolution in areas such as supply chain efficiency, sustainability and consumer engagement.

Organizers have placed a strong emphasis on enhancing networking opportunities in 2026. Extended trade show hours on April 29—from 1:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.—will give attendees more time to explore the floor, while the addition of food stations is expected to create a more dynamic and interactive environment.

A newly introduced matchmaking feature, accessible through the event’s mobile app and online portal, is designed to help exhibitors and attendees connect more efficiently. The tool allows participants to schedule meetings in advance, maximizing time on-site and ensuring more meaningful business interactions.

Beyond the trade show floor, CPMA 2026 offers a comprehensive lineup of events for full delegates. The Delegate Breakfast will feature keynote speaker Jim Carroll, a globally recognized futurist and innovation expert, who will share insights on trends shaping the future of the produce industry.

The Awards Brunch will celebrate industry achievements while also providing a platform for international retailers to discuss how purchasing decisions are evolving in today’s marketplace. Meanwhile, Business Sessions and Learning Lounges will cover a range of critical topics, from supply chain challenges to shifting consumer preferences.

Networking remains a central pillar of the convention, with a variety of social events designed to bring the industry together. Highlights include the Chair’s Welcome Reception (Tuesday, 8 p.m.-11 p.m.), CPMA After Party (Wednesday, 9:30 p.m.-1 a.m.), Women in Produce Reception (Wednesday, 6 p.m.-7 p.m.), Young Professionals Reception (Tuesday, 4:30 p.m.-6 p.m.), and the Annual Banquet (Thursday, 7:30 p.m.-10:30 p.m.), each offering opportunities to build connections in both formal and informal settings.

Additional highlights include pre-show and off-site experiences such as the Retail Tour (Tuesday morning) and Ontario Food Terminal Tour (Thursday morning), as well as the Half Your Plate Symposium (Tuesday), International Retail Panel (Wednesday), Learning Lounges (Wednesday and Thursday), and the Women in Produce Summit (Friday), extending programming beyond the trade show floor.

Retailers and foodservice operators are also being encouraged to attend, with complimentary trade show vouchers available to qualified participants. This initiative aims to strengthen ties between suppliers and buyers while fostering collaboration across the supply chain.

As the produce industry continues to navigate changing consumer demands, technological advancements and global market dynamics, CPMA provides a timely forum for discussion, discovery and partnership.

With a sold-out show floor, expanded networking tools and a diverse range of programming, this year’s event is poised to deliver significant value for attendees across all segments of the industry.
